VNC QuickDesk - Global Options

To open the Global Options dialog box you may either press the <CTRL-o> key combination or click on the symbol on the toolbar.

The various options of the WinVNC Viewer are entered in this dialog box.
The path to the WinVNC Viewer is entered in the box labeled "Location of VNCviewer".
You may download the original WinVNC Viewer from AT&T Laboratories Cambridge..
Alternatively you may download the Securicor bank service GmbH version of the viewer at: -- here --.




The options for the Java Viewer may be adjusted here.
The listing of the Java classes indicates the path, in which the class files of the Java Viewer are. If you installed the Java Viewer you received with the Securicor bank service GmbH and you installed it in the default directory, then you will find the "Directory of the java classes" in the C:\Program Files\VNCqd\JavaViewer sub directory.

It is recommended that you use the Microsoft program, wjview.exe as your "Program for starting the java viewer".


The options for Java program contain the correct syntax for the program for starting the Java Viewers. For the program wjview.exe the syntax reads as follows: "/cp:a %CLASSPATH% %VNCVIEWER% 'Share Desktop' yes Encoding RRE 'Raw pixel drawing' Fast", whereby the parameters mean the following:
/cp:a %CLASSPATH% %VNCVIEWER% "Share Desktop" yes Encoding RRE "Raw pixel drawing" Fast,
wobei die Parameter folgendes bedeuten:

/cp:a %CLASSPATH%: class path is replaced with the path to the java classes.
%VNCVIEWER%: is replaced with 'vncviewer'.
'Share Desktop' yes: allows the user to share the desktop with those already using it.
Encoding RRE: RRE encoding is used.
'Raw pixel drawing' fast: fast transmission is used.





Preferred viewer: select your preferred viewer.
Retry password transmission: number of attempts the viewer makes transmitting the password.
disable encryption: the passwords are stored unencrypted in the registry.
minimize VNC QuickDesk after connect: the VNC QuickDesk window is minimized after a connection has been established.
Minimize to systray: when VNC QuickDesk minimizes, it is visible only in the systray.
